SUMMER DAYS ARE OVER?

Summer days are over?
You've got to be goating around,
You know kidding.
The carnival has come town,
It's the start of summer over here.
Tourist season has started,
Don't mean to fuss,
Parking your car is a bust.
Firing up barbecues wine and beer,
Temperatures are hoting up.
No more storms in a teacup,
Bluebottles are back.
Rolled up newspaper,
Ready to give them a wack.
So are the buzzing flies.
Ants are coming into the dry,
So are the spiders to catch;
All those pesky flies.
The lady bugs are looking for,
All those gentlemen bugs.
But I've not ever seen any before,
Even the silver fish,
are in the bathroom;
Trying to spend a penny.
Woodlice are parachuting,
From the ceiling once again.
There seems to be to many,
The air is dry and hot.
The grass is turning yellow,
Lying in the sun I must refrain.
Incase the skin cancer comes back again.
With all those midges taken a bite,
No time to sleep scratching all night.
Lazing around on grass,
Trying to drink some water,
With a moth in your glass.
Getting blackberry thorns,
Very much like wooden splinters,
Stuck in your fingers.
Far too hot to sleep,
Boy I wish that it was winter.

I love summer, going to the beach. I don't like bbq's though, I don't mind Al Fresco eating, a nice fruit de mer with salad is lovely with a little chilled wine. I had this boyfriend years ago, who would call me 'his posh totty' lol.
