I adore the ocean, and lately have been depressed because it has been only once, and 6 long years at that, since I have seen it.


The ocean in my soul

The ocean shines upon my heart
although I do not see it
I feel it deep within my soul
although I am not near it

I hear the waves crash all around
although it is so many miles away
The sea mist caresses my face
although I cannot feel it

I see it in my dreams
and in my waking hours
Something calls me there
to be cradled by it's hands

I fear I'll never see it again
but even so, I'll always feel
It living deep within my heart
Calming my inner core

Oh, Teala, It is so beautiful! I love the Sea myself. It is so soothing so calming and yet has all the tumults within. I talk about it in my poem" The Pacific Shores"...
I can understand your longing for it. Some times when you are troubled, just sitting on a beach and watching the sunrise or the sunset can be so calming an experience; the sea seems to be applying a balm on your sores...
