A bit experimental fotr me.
A REALLY GOOD FEELING
It is early evening when we meet up.
Our estate is in the countryside,
Isolated from the village, here
On a balmy evening in
The South West of France.
It is the annual 'get-together',
When we get the chance to
Meet Up with people we may
Not have seen since last year,
Or are newcomers to the scene.
We all contribute the food -
And, amid the Bergerac region,
There is plenty of wine!
Music inspires some dancing too.
We now have four English
Residents, and we are welcomed
With open arms and kisses.
My neighbour strongly insists
I taste her garden grown
Cherry tomatoes. Delicious.
Another brings alcohol laced
Prunes, which blow your mind
They're seventy percent proof!
The chatter is incessant
The laughter heart warming
And at midnight we depart
Knowing we are amoung friends.
It is a really good feeling.
