I'M NOT ALWAYS SMITTEN

I'm not always smitten,
With the things that I've written.
But I never look back in anger,
At the things I once wrote.

Each word that's,
Come out of my head.
That's put into a sentence,
Is something I hope that's read.

Although it's no use dwelling,
On my diction or spelling.
Often wonder when I write,
If it's come out right.

I don't try to offend,
So don't ask me to make amends.
As I lately think I see,
It's the dementia that's inside me.

The enjoyment I get from looking back,
Is all that I need for my mind to relax.
My poetry to me has feelings,
Of a life that's lived but fleeting.
