a breezy day 5 18 25
hackberry leaf
weighs that of down
enough in sum
to weary limbs
~
Sitting outside beneath a massive hackberry tree, thinking thoughts, writing a bit. Breeze stirs the leafy limbs. I am surrounded by greenery, birdsong, squirrel chatter, overcast sky, lush clovered grass, no people, All the ingredients for a peaceful afternoon, peace eludes. The mind has no off switch.
Thunder in the distance. Tomorrow will reveal the stoutness of these weary limbs.
Some of you remember night soul woman. I'm thinking of her.
