How About it?
If I promise not to cavil, will you come to play with me?
The heat's diminished. We can spend the time you're here
Beside the pool. We'll lightly touch on weightless subjects.
I won't say a single word about the villains running rampant,
None about my aches and pains. We'll have some snacks,
Some margaritas, plunging now and then into the water,
Climbing out again, and going on with what we'd been
Discussing before we went in. At some point, you'll decide
To leave, and I'll be sorry that you have, but both of us will,
If we're lucky, part, pleased that we played.
