Just some random ramblings about youth and aging

What Happens before and after

When I was 11, I asked my grandpa,
but how does it feel to be 76
(his birthday it was).
You'll know when the time comes
he said, and blew out his candle.

When I was 76, I asked my grandson,
well, son how does it feel to be 11
(so many years have passed)
You already know, he said and smiled
as I lit his candle and smiled back.

Children say the sweetest things.
I asked my littlest one,
What do you want to be when you grow up?
He shrugged his shoulders then replied, " me ".
