Mermaids
One summer afternoon, some time ago,I was taking a stroll along the beach.
The sun was beginning to set, and I was kind
Of tired but the salty smell of the marine breeze,
Impregnating all my senses didn’t let me
fall asleep.
Suddenly, I heard a beautiful sound, and I Realized
it came from behind the calm tidal waves. It was kind of an alluring song that, little by little, mesmerized me,
And invited me into the sea.
Had no choice but to advance into the ocean, although
I knew it could be dangerous cause the night had already fallen.
And abruptly, without realizing it, I was alone and cold in the middle of the ocean, and heavy rain began to fall. The howling wind started to make gigantic waves, wanting to bury me alive. It was almost Bible black,
If not for the remaining light that came from the menacing thunder.
I tried to swim back to the shore, but it was already too late,
I was too far away and also too deep.
I lost all hope and resigned myself to drowning,
When something inside the ocean took me by my left ankle
And with an abrupt movement, pulled me down.
But to my surprise, I didn’t drown!
Instead, I found myself contemplating the most beautiful face I’ve
Ever seen,
It was the face of a strange creature, and then, I realized it was a Siren.
She stared into my eyes and in an instant, I found myself deeply in love.
I metamorphosed into a Seahorse, and since then
I’ve been living,
with
The love of my life,
At the bottom of the sea.
