THE DYING PLACE

One thing I've noticed over time,
I'm not brighter than the sun.
I've given up on myself,
Not just everyone.

This world was not for me,
My misplaced heart.
Is nowhere to be found,
It's something that I no longer need.

The darkness of the night has come,
To steal this useless mind away.
My body feels to wearily to fight off,
Whatever that comes my way.

This dying earth surrounds,
As a tear drops from the sky.
In the foundation off what is to be.
Hidden in the dark, I begin to cry.

This world is such a fearful place,
To one who has nothing left to teach.
Still reeling from a nuclear winter,
Yet left dying, My heart still beats.
