for Isabelle
an evening
oh, starry night—
from the top, the view, the hills, the vale
the downwardness, the swoop
the gainsay of gravity, ha to you gravity
the world in motion
whatever world you choose to see you see in flashes
as you gain speed
thinking celestial thoughts of tomorrowness
and ancestors
never coming to the end, until, of course you do—
not yet, this is a journey
no one knows how it will end, or when
starry night
nobody knows how the story ends—
