FORGOTTEN LINES
In my younger day'sI used to read
A book a day.
I guess I myself
Devoured every line
I could recant everything.
Now increasingly
When I read
Word's disappear.
Drifting forever by
Word's no longer beguile me
Entrench me when I read.
Sometimes it leads me
Into place's I cannot see
Like life forgotten in poetry.
When I was young and in my prime,
I used to treasure every line.
But now I'm turned old and grey,
I've forgotten what I was about to say.
