Many of us have thoughts about life and death after the loss of someone...

NOT A POEM, BUT A THOUGHT

A friend of mine, who passed-on almost exactly five years ago, a poet, sent this to me in a private email.  I'm certain he won't mind me sharing it with you:

here's hoping

it’s longing that keeps us going

an insistent hope

that will not be quenched

nor satisfied

it’s hoping that keeps us going

picking a path through the carnage of broken hearts and expectations

so shut up, move on
just one more step

it will come right

and if not

at least we tried.

His name was Rick Summat (AKA: CoolHermit).  It was his nature to be brusque sometimes, it added a bit of drama when he performed his poetry to audiences in the UK!

I just had real meaning to me in this week when I/we lost my/our dear fellow poet and friend Lawrence Beck.

With best wishes and blessings, Allen

We have to try
to do less we
might as well die.
