I've had a writing challenge on the subject of silence; this was my first response

Noises Off

We turned off Alexa and
we heard a different voice.
We turned off the television,
but we didn’t miss the noise.
We unplugged all our media,
then something was immediate,
something waiting, always there,
waiting silently in the peace;
what it was, what we heard,
was all of nature’s restful ease.
