Partita No. 2 In C Minor, BWV 826: VI. Capriccio

Lying back on the yoga mat (no yoga; just mat)
up in my study,
completely relaxed
and magically endorphin focused
after a few hours of cross-country skiing
through the Norbotten wilderness,
listening to Glenn Gould's rendering
of J. S. Bach's Partitas,
my body is made of glass;
my mind a shining display
of mathematical perfection
and spiritiual arithmetics;
the moment a koan,
the identity of the Partitas
a blue bead of prayers strung in space;
the Idea of God a breathless vacuum
in the transparency of circadian rhythm,
Johann Sebastian sitting back
in a corner of my study,

watching over me, as I drift into dreams on stilts,
the waters wide
