I feel like I've made
a lot of friends on poetbay.
Hope that you don't take it personally,
As I only mentioned two..

POETRY TO ME

I used to think poetry,
That didn't rhyme.
Had no rhythm,

As anyone can plainly see,
That's the dyslexia in me.
Since I've been on poetbay,
I've found that isn't so.

Melinda was one off those.
Who's poetry to me,
Seems to ebb and flow.

I used to read at speed,
Now my mind has gone to seed.
For I have trouble finishing,
Anything I start to read.

Don't think I'm looking for sympathy,
Because I assure you that I'm not.
I'm very happy with the brain I've got.

Lacyxdevine was another I must say,
I consider still a friend to this very day.
Who disappeared off of poetbay.

I still stop and read her poetry,
She flattered me by giving me.
My very own slice of poetry,
She helped to set my mind free.

There are many distinct poeteers,
That in my realm of possibilities,
I consider not just friends but family.

Although we may never meet,
We have one thing in common.
Fellow friends I think we can all agree,
And that's the love we all share for poetry.

Being part of a community, this community, means so much—it is like a family, some close, some distant, each a part of the whole.

Every poem a voice. A gift.
