Opposable Thumbs
I speak
from within this cranium;
emit series of sounds
over the enamelled fences of the teeth,
pluck at the airspace,
hurl muzzle-loaded phonetics,
meanings & sentences,
self-reflective & acting out;
lie in wait & speak up;
the forelimbs of my species
equipped with opposable thumbs,
causing glycol, Volvo Amazon,
TBC sanatoriums, poetry collections
and the joy-sprinkling transformation of whore-mullahs
into soot over Persia,
while Japanese haiku oracles rake gravel
and members of the parachute club
jump over Skavsta
– and that’s not all!
