A New Day
I no longer keep records of the books
I acquire,
that arrive through the mailbox
or at the pickup point,
and are leafed through at random, a page here, there;
find their places somewhere in the house,
fully unaware,
entirely without bureaucratic assurance
of their individual journeys
toward future, unexpected reappearances
Yesterday, Werner Aspenström’s Ice Report arrived,
exemplarily wrapped and packaged
by Bokbörsen,
collected by my Wildwife
at COOP in Råneå
Today is a new day
An early spring lowers its dragging anchors
into the snow cover’s premature March thaw
and remains in the Niemisel region;
the skis, thin and long, meagre figures of futility
out on the veranda
Perhaps the season will skip the crusted snow this year
