Kyrie Eleison (II)
I wake early this Wednesday
with all the lost around me;
those lost since the beginning of time;
all those lost this very day,
and those not yet born, awaiting their turn to be lost;
one by one, in due order, brought to nothing
Closest around me
stand my wildwife Anna, the greyhound Kim,
the cats Izzi & Gunwald, my ex-wife Judith,
my former lover Sirkka and my former friend Sune;
all members of the soon –
or long since – lost company,
joining all existences
in all times, in all places,
for all places are here, all times now,
and everyone’s kyrie eleison rises unheard
from the weave of life
as I go down into the kitchen
and fix breakfast
with the cats Silver & Cesi about my legs
and eating-disordered thought fragments, carbonated,
fizzing in the shelter of the skull
