A bit of fancy...  No point wondering if God is a man or a woman... I can tell you, I've 'seen' them, BOTH of them are gods.

GODS IN THE MAKING

Sitting side by side
Upon the capping stone
His arm around her waist
Her head upon his shoulder
Waiting for a new world.
They had agreed yesterday
That every thing they did
Heralded the beginning
Of something completely new.
One breath follows another
One hour the one before
A morning kiss the successor
To one the previous night.
So they wait to see
The bright new sun arise.
Thinking of a new world -
A new day to start again -
And this time they
Want to get it right.

She whispers softly
"I'll make the people,
You give them thoughts."
He nods in recognition
That thoughts are prime
And imagines a world
Where no-one knows
Aggression or greed.

The first man she makes
Has his hair and eyes,
His face and fine figure.
Her first female form
Is exactly as her own.

He turns to her and says,
"They will realise
They are in our image."

She simply replies,
"Of course!They are our
Gods in the making."

I never know whether to comment or not as there is always the chance of interpreting writing differently than the author intended. Still, here goes. I love this poem. So much hope left hanging in the air. One day, perhaps.
Sincerely,
Melinda

Every culture writes their own creation story, you are a culture unto yourself, writing this beautiful story of beginning, of creation, of love.

It may be a "bit of fancy," but it's a lovely bit of fancy which touched me.
