Over Shifting Ground

Walk through the water,
do not get swept away
in the undercurrent
of a rising tide.

Do not let the silt
of uncertainty
blind you.
Place your feet
with the memory
of a path mapped
over shifting ground.

Slippery rocks and
sudden drops may
compel you to tilt
your chin to the sky,
let your body
go heavy, limp,
breathe…

a temporary peace
waiting for strength
to continue

your walk through the water.

Griffonner The PoetBay support member heart!
A fine allegorical poem, I think. "let your body / go heavy, limp, / breathe…" as in contemplative meditation. Blessings, Allen

For the on lookers looked on,
In disbelief, For they saw him walk on water.
For they couldn't see the path beneath,
The waters edge displayed.
