All is Well
The sky is green today,my lawn, a brilliant magenta,
dancing bears curtsy
to kangaroos in boxing gloves,
no satisfaction for either.
My groceries are so cheap,
steak and lobster fill my cart,
and the finest bourbon pours
from the cheaper bottle
into a crystal tumbler.
Worry lines have vanished
from foreheads now relaxed,
as we all smile,
nodding along with the anchor’s script,
everyone in agreement.
So what if it’s a little hot,
the oil is gushing freely,
racism has disappeared,
bank accounts and pantries full
in this crazy mixed up world.
All is well.
Trust me.
