Only Disappointed
Nothing shocks me anymorebecause nothing
breaks the film
covering their eyes,
a collective nod -
justification pouring
from their lips.
I would not care
if they worship him,
but they won’t
keep it to themselves.
They are like fainting goats
at the mere mention of a drag show,
but dare to criticize
Him
and they sharpen their horns,
bulls in the ring.
Red is their favorite color,
fitting -
the country is in the red,
blood seeping
into snow,
into sand,
into ocean water,
war games for profit.
So, no,
I am not shocked.
Only disappointed.
