Righteous Giggle
Have you ever been interruptedby the righteous giggle of a baby,
been pulled away
from the reality of your now
here on earth and spirited away
into the atmosphere
where innocence still lives?
A giggle grabs your attention
as does a siren’s urgent scream,
catches you mid-thought,
renders you speechless
whether in wonder
or with fear, you
stop, turn, and listen.
But the giggle of a child
is the sound of joy,
the equivalent of champagne,
popped.
The sound fades
but the bubbles remain
to tickle your soul
