To be loved or to be seen?
I love you in ways I have no words for,
with a heart too full, too heavy, too raw.
But love should not feel like a whispered wish,
a silent echo that never lands.
I reach for you with open hands,
but your touch never lingers long.
You hold me, but not like I am your home.
You see me, but not like I am your world.
I drown in the weight of what I feel,
while you stand safely on the shore.
Do you know how it feels to love this deep,
to give and give, yet receive none in return?
Now, my heart withers:
like stone where cherries did blossom,
ice, where flame once burned;
If loving you means losing myself,
then tell me, why do I still yearn?
