poem's manifesto
I begin before you arrive,
standing in my own structure,
refusing a single doorway
yet welcoming the reader who listens,
enduring the reader who arrives armed,
keeping my interior weather intact
and remaining unfinished by design,
answering only to the line
and walking beside the reader who trusts uncertainty,
finally continuing beyond the final word.
