simply showing up
"simply showing up"
I log-on
again,
not to see if I’m fading,
but to notice
I’m still here.
I tap the keys,
not as proof,
but as a small reminder
that the day hasn’t slipped past me.
I blink through the blur,
and it clears —
not always,
but enough.
Someone out there
might be asking
what went wrong
with the grand design.
I ask instead
what went right —
that I can wonder,
that I can laugh at myself,
that I can return
to this page
and feel the world
steady a little.
Maybe that’s the answer:
I got it right
by showing up.
