Hi everyone,

The editors would like to inform you that PoetBay could get into serious trouble if it allows the publication of articles that infringe an author's copyright.

In the "Cookies & Privacy" link we do say that "the responsibility to ensure that material does not violate any copyright laws is primarily that of the poster" however the Editors wish to protect the site from damaging claims from copyright owners and so would ask members to really be certain that what they wish to publish is free of copyright.

Under European copyright rules, we cannot publish anything from an author who hasn't been deceased for at least 70 years or the author has made it available in the public domain. 

(Of course, members claiming copyright to a partcular submission of their own automatically grant PoetBay permission to publish that submission.)

Your attention and cooperation over this matter is extremely important.
