I just experienced a wonderful vacation with the person I love. While I enjoy coming home to what is the “normal” I’ve lived since 2010, there is always a sadness associated with the 24/7 togetherness to the limit of the time when we are together.

Morning

Vacation is now over,
a return to the normal,
the waiting to reunite
but never truly united
in lives predestined
to end in mourning,
a call to come,
perhaps, a call of
no use to come —
the end.

Oh how this poem reflects my thoughts so often echoing in my head. Sometimes I remind myself that the one single purpose of time is to allow the perception of change - even in this fine poem, the change between vacation and what you call 'the normal'. And then, of course, paraphrasing, the predestined separation from our loved ones in that final act of living. Blessings, my friend, Allen

A familiar feeling. Hopefully you’ll have another vacation soon.
