This poem is about the Biblical tragic hero Samson.

The Final Stand

O Lord Jehovah! Hear my final cry,
Let me triumph over my enemies.
O Lord, greater than all conquerors,
Victory is possible only through You.

Now those eyes shall never open again;
A dreadful darkness has covered him.
The head once bowed in defeat,
The face stained with tears and blood.

Until yesterday, he believed to be invincible
Fear was a word unknown to him
Proud and rebellious like the Leviathan,
But today, a mere object of ridicule

Those very foes who, until yesterday,
Dared not even raise their eyes before him,
Now laugh in mocking triumph and ridicule;
Those enemies who have claimed power over him.

A cunning woman cast her snare,
Capturing the depths of his heart.
With her witty words, she ensnared him
Until she seized the priceless secret within his heart.

The armies of the enemy stood ready at the door;
They rushed upon him without warning.
He called out in a mighty voice
The name of the Most High,
But the blazing lamp of his heart had already been extinguished.

His feet were placed in the stocks,
His mighty arms bound with chains of iron.
His two eyes, once filled with the vision of a warrior,
Were brutally pierced and destroyed.
That was the day even a mighty warrior felt his heart tremble.

He remembers those days—
When he stood alone among the armies of his enemies.
With the jawbone of a donkey,
He brought destruction upon his foes;
That was the day he ruled over his enemies.

Today, he stands alone once again,
Amid the laughter and mockery of the same enemies.
Yet, in the storms raging within his heart,
A firm resolve remains—
To glorify the name of God.

Those hands moved forward to take the final vengeance;
In the name of Jehovah God,
He called upon an unfathomable power.
The three thousand souls who mocked and jeered
Were delivered into the hands of the great warrior.
