lin and the moon

marketa and i reminisce

years ago

a summer evening, far from city lights

we find a quiet spot, full moon

cloudless sky

~

a darkness slowly settles upon us

amplifying

the quietude, as the moon becomes eclipsed

last night, again, a lunar eclipse

though partial

~

we are at home, outside, watch the shadow

take a bite

then another, marketa, tired, goes in

i stay until the last sliver of dimming

then the lightening

~

cygnus keeps me company

or, vice versa

at the point of closest totality, a hue

of dried blood is cast upon the surface

luminescent

~

you write about a bloody moon

lin says

while waters rage

lives shatter, a planet convulses

fools reign
