The blind
that very law that as a crowpecked at my shimmering
eyes and left me blind, blinking
at emptiness, preserves me
from being self blinded
by the shards of earthly glass,
incessantly itching
for earthly attention
by bestowing upon me
an inward occupation,
hidden to every one but myself-
just to be who I am
made of mud, limbs, languages, ideas-
lofty but
mere raiment of time.
