Ramblings 714

 

Memories of you as a mother
Are so distant from any surface
Consciousness that I have doubts
We actually lived any of them.

 

So today, I, at times, find
Myself pondering on what it
Must be like to have that
Experience of having a mother,

 

'Cause in all honesty,
I haven't the slightest clue.

I can readily empathise with the feelings you express in this heartfelt poem, even though I think my experience differs from yours, perhaps in significant ways. The thing is, the parenting we receive has great influence on our lives in their entirety, so too a lack of parenting. In the end though, I personally believe we are we are because we are meant to be there - even though for most people that is a hard pill to swallow! Blessings, Allen
