Empty eyes

One hundred thousands empty eyes
bleeding beneath a common sky
i feel the sadness in the street
hearts so heavy they barely beat.

The summer birds that used to sing
within their souls have taken wing
now steeped in pain they shut all doors
and walk alone without a pause.

To frightened to say hello
to fearful to join the show
dripping their life onto the page
a cold glass screen imprisons the day.

Documenting the common madness
redefining the sense of sadness
counting every single breath
talking to their saviour death

Clinging to the ragged edge
just holding on - to what is left.

Saga
It reminds me of Harry Connick Jr.'s version of "Drifitng". Wipe your tears, the sun is shining.
