Finally, a current poem. I hope you like this one too.
I want to thank you all for the warm welcome and encouragement.

Lover's Delight

"She Walks in Beautyk Like the Night"
So the "Lord" wrote to his lover's delight.

So we shall write to one another
From pen to pen
Lover to lover.

The paper our stage to execute our play
Following Shakespear's lead
To woo and sway.

Words written then acted for all to see
A lover's testimony for you from me.

I love you and my passion I cannot contain.
This emotion so strong, I am unable to restrain.

Words are mere ink and paper
Failing short of this love's nature.

My heart is disappointed each time I write
The outcome is such a shadow of my lover's deilight.

There must be another way.

Prehaps my dear husband I will accomplish it tonight.

Perfectly, beautifully stated. Even those gifted with words often find themselves lacking the proper expression to relay the deep felt love and passion and so there are other delights to turn to.
