in this poem, i have endeavored to personify tempation as a irresistabl yet decieving woman...

Ice in fire

Pleasant to the eye,
Lightening up many a grey soul,
Warming up the bitter frost of hate,
Melting into pools of hope.

Enticing the dancing eyes and restless hands of man,
Cajoling, inviting, into its luminous bosom,
Hypnotizing the ever interested,
Hungry for adventure,
Setting in a trance,
The greedy species,
Who can't resist its warmth.

As man embraces the blazing golden,
Icy pangs of repentance and doom
Pierce through the skin,
Tearing through the pink flesh,
To reach the sweet blood.

As the brilliant fire unmasks itself,
Revealing its raw beauty,
Inviting,
Deceiving,
Backstabbing the unfortunate,
Trapped in its web,
Unable to escape,
As the biting chill eats through him,
Leaving him barren of emotion or thought,
Void of reality,
Drowning in the black pools of quicksand,
Obliviously,
As vivacious fire loves him,
As he revels in her music.
