Provisional Dynamite

Government organizations
are always so busy, with
so many ants running
around in the anthill of the office.
At least the sun's warm.
And here I am in the passenger's seat,
not the driver's seat where my
behind should be parked.
So I have the flattened plastic squares,
White and red, Crosses and Flags,
Letters and Warning Signs.
A breeze once the unsurety was over.
Your neckpiece didn't work, since I
didn't give you the chance to gloat by
wearing it around my neck,
hanging pendant on the adjoining strips.
It's not as if I'm going to drive
as far as I want to,
past the outposts and into the wide open spaces
where all you can hear is the sound of your
own voice, singing along to the favourite
tunes playing in your head.
I guess I'll need the ignition key.
