I wrote this in a simple manner with a goal of avoiding all pretense or superlatives to represent a pure and simple truth.

Just Talk To Him

When all else fails, we pray
Why must we make it that way
Why not pray from the start
An honest plea from the heart
It is what Our Father has asked
It isn't that great a task
Just a few words His way
Would be a better start to our day
A sorry now and then
Would cover a multitude of sins
And a thank you every night
Would set so many things right
Just a few words true and simple
You need not be in a temple
Just pray wherever you are
God will hear, He isn't far
Like a child He said to be
Crawl up and sit on His knee
And tell him what's on your mind
Don't worry He'll find the time

wow! such a wonderful poem! well said!

yes. you are so right . my daily prayers have also helped me see the day and its events and my non-praying husband often tells me to please pray out loud . sometimes praying is a task one has to practice on in order to open up naturally . when done , miracles happen .
There will be miracles when you believe , I have first hand experience with that . Thank you for writing this wonderful poem aunt Phyllis , I want to print it out and hang it over my bed .

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!!!

The message is simple and powerful. You have written it beautifully. He is so very patient. Always there even when we ignore Him. Unconditional love- what a gift.

this was so beautiful...
