She

She's staring at all the pictures
So intently, as though they may come to life
And throw her into a rush of memories
It's somewhere she'd like to go, she says.
Someone asked
If you had one wish
What would you want it to be?
She looks at the photos
She shakes her head as she sighs
'I want to return to this. '

She wants to return to the past
An impossible thing, it seems
But she yearns so much for the time
She would do anything to go back and relive
What seemed like a fast paced dream.
She feels her eyes welling up with tears
Because she remembers
And it hurts;
She feels the spite of fate and karma
And she wishes that it were all just a dream.

She looks longingly at the pictures
Seeing beyond the figures and scenes
She sees the love, the magic of moments
That are forever imprinted in her memory.
She sees the beauty of two souls
Conjoined to make one;
She feels the pain of the moment
That she had to let go
And let him leave.
And now she's left sitting here
Writing poems about this life
The life of loneliness in motion..

Her gaze is shifted upward.

She tries not to cry.
