Happy thought gone

I remember when I could fly
Then, one day I lost my happy thought,
Forgot how to fly, and where home, really was

One day I remembered I could fly
But it was too late
My happy thought had gone away
I had waited too long to realize
What I was losing

Such bright light shines from you
Bright like the rays of the morning
Sun across the still blue waters
Of a forgotten lake

Such a passionate fire burns
Within you
Like a thousand cupid arrows
Were used for its kindling

Such a sight to behold
Sculpted from God's special clay
By his very hands
For all the world to see

I rejoice in the knowledge
That I once shared a slice of your lifetime
And I am honored by the love you gave to me.

I grieve with great sorrow that I
Squandered the little time we had
Wasted a chance to hold such a beautiful soul

And now, now I am left with hope.
Hope that one-day, before I pass from this life
To the next I will know
Your forgiveness.

Nevertheless I go on.

I remember when I could fly
Then, one day I lost my happy thought,
Forgot how to fly, and where home, really was

One day I remembered I could fly
But it was too late
My happy thought had gone away
I had waited too long to realize
What I was losing

One day I will fly again
