All this started with "cattails sway" just poppin' up in my head.
I remember jumping rope and saying a rhyme as a child. This was created with that in mind. I needed something light and fun.

Jump Rope Ditty

cattails sway
in the stream and play
as the dogwood chases the blues away.
daffodils
quake and shake their frills
while the bass are swimming with the bluegills.
peterpan
found the pirates hand
and the children flew home from Neverland.
crocodiles
tick and tock a while
fairy dust changes a frown to a smile.
Sing a song
jump a rope that's long
and keep the rhythm poppin' all day long.

Ah..refreshing! This is a fun poem, I used to jump rope as a child too. There were even tournaments in Girl Scouts-never could make it into those! Nostalgic poems always warm my heart!

OH YESSSSSS!! After this lets do Hots!!! Then High water!!! Then blue bells, cockleshells, evie, ivy, overheads. Then bring on that second rope and we'll double dutch with the best of them. Remember: Down in the valley where the green grass grows, there sat Kathy as sweet as a rose, she sang, she sang, she sang so sweet, along came ? (Jess, Johnny, Joe) and kissed her on the cheek, How many kisses did she get? One, two, three, four, five, six, ...............................
