Voices of youWhen I gaze into your eyes
I can feel the voices of you speak
I hear the voice of your heart
Ready to run to my arms
It cries aloud
please come hold me
chase away these fears and keep me safe
hold me till all the lights go out and beyond
be my champion for all times
When I gaze into your eyes
I can feel the voices of you speak
I can here the voice of your mind
It says I must keep you at arms length
For I have been hurt before and am afraid to let myself go
Afraid to let down my walls
Even though you say you won't hurt me
I have heard it all before
Even though I feel safe with you I must stand fast
When I gaze into your eyes
I can feel the voices of you speak
I hear the voice of your soul
and it says to me
I have waited so long for someone to love my for who I am
The good and the bad
I had begun to lose hope in that wish
I think you would do that very thing,
but I must protect myself
I have had enough of pain
I need no more of that
I don't think you would ever hurt me
But I have felt like that before
And yet here I stand
healing from the wounds of broken words
I want to open myself to you
I am trying
but I still fear
When I gaze into your eyes
I can feel the voices of you speak
So I said to your heart
I am here I will hold you forever
I will never let you go
I said to your mind
I under stand your torment
I am patient I will wait for you
For heaven knows you are worth the wait
I said to your soul
Peace to you
and all the love I have to give
I will quiet the pain and still the fears
I will set a fire with in my heart and keep you there
Safe and warm for all times
I am here when you are ready
You only need say the word
For your room is waiting
As am I patiently for as long as need be
I will never rush you to a place your not ready to be
