Nursery Rhyme in Paradise Lost

Hey diddle diddle, hush now, dry your tear stained face ...

The devil has on a brand new suit, and for you dances the jig in this place

He discovered you in the garden there, wishing on stars, with no prayer to spare as your heart crumbled thinking the world so unfair ...

Instead of kings horses and men to help mend, the devils minions trample each bit of your soul over... again and again. From grace you fell, as the blue boy's horn failed to play; Little Bow Peep and her sheep just could not stay ...

This garden is too dark for even the man in the moon; he moved to happier a place, with him the dish and the spoon ...

Old Mother Hubbard's cupboard has long been bare, empty it became when your soul forgot to care ... Do you recall the secrets of how the sun makes the rainbow out of rain? Gone from your mind is the magic of all things that change

You have lost your voice with which to sing, of childhood love and silly things ... Hey Diddle Diddle what happened to you?

Did you look the devil in the eye as he spun pretty lies where you saw truth? Did Jack and Jill wave to you good-bye as you tumbled and bumbled down the hill sounding your pitiful cry?

Knowing the abyss was his domain. The Prince of darkness, they knew for you alone he came. My lovely little Faust, for you ... truly what did your soul cost?... Did you pay the same as I for your place within this Paradise Lost?

To lose our soul is avery high price!
Interesting how you intertwined it with childhood nursery rhymes.
