just what the title says....

Reminiscing

Marbles rolling on the floor
Jack balls bouncing out the door
Sidewalk chalk in my hand
Pony tails in rubber bands
Pin curls on Saturday night
Shoes shined and lined just right
Crinoline slips and bobby socks
Sisters with curly locks
Daddy's hair not yet gray
Momma's standing tall today
Brothers here and there about
Horns honking, children shout
Grandpa sitting in the yard
Grandma living a life that's hard
Kool-Ade stand beside the street
Garbage man drinks his treat
A nickle please for a cup
Drink it down; I'll fill it up
Peanuts in my Big Red please
Summer's here a time for fleas
Dogs scratching a rhythm dance
Cats watching in a trance
Kickball played in the park
Firefly catching after dark
I was but a girl of eight
Swinging on the picket gate
Singing songs and chewing gum
Following the beat of my own drum

You've taken me on another vacation with you!! The Perfect Vacation! Back to our childhood home and a perfect life! No one else would call it perfect, since we were quite UNWEALTHY, but I don't think we cared about that too much at the time. We had everything we needed if not everything we wanted. Most importantly we had each other. You have set the scene perfectly and I have loved going back to that scenery with you. You are an amazing poet and a wonderful sister!
