Apology

Dearest friend or sworn enemy?
Both accomplices of hideous felony;
Sublime grieves surrounded one,
The other an icon of unadulterated vanity.

Destiny dictated the treaty's terms,
Emotions were sacrificed at the cursed altars;
Serenity was lost in the chaotic drama,
A miracle was needed to erase the stigma.

The past told a different tale;
One of trust and belief insane;
But the present portrayed a different scene,
Coloured with hatred and total disdain.

The catastrophe curved a few mysteries;
Of unspoken respect and ignored glories;
Still waiting for time to revive their liberties,
And say to each other, "My sincere apologies."

Zoya Zaidi
A very well written poem dear Nibir!

Yes, we need to shed our differences of cast, creed and useless prejudices... It is time we apologize to each other for our past excesses and move on in peace and harmony...
