Be Still My Heart.

As I step into the dark

Of that which is unseen

Do I wrap my hands around

Which I know has never been

Do I suck into my lungs the air

Of dark despair

Or do I offer up my eyes to what

I know will not be there

Can you tell me what I feel

In the depth of midnight hour

Or release from me the scent

Of a wound that will not heal

Am I just a another pawn

In the game that never ends

Or just a soul that floats

Above the earth

In a heart that never mends.

Lines 14 & 17 seem to me just wonderful. Great text, Graham!

Very well written. Every word is important. A steadfast anxiety with a little hint of caution. Taking risks? Very well done.
