Poor Dover



Australia is "down under"
America "up and over"
It's enough to make one wonder
Just where in tarnation is Dover

Poor Dover, with it's "white cliffs"
Mapped in England, to the left
Needs a total earthly shift
It's so geographically bereft

England's neither here nor there
It just can't be located
At least to those who are aware
It's geographically ill-fated

Australia with it's Outback
Down under, where it is
Doesn't seem too out of whack
Being in it's deep abyss

Americans up and over
Up, so close to heaven
Are sad for poor lost Dover
And all it's English brethren

Dove is just around the corner from me, I see it's naboure Deal , from the browned off white cliffs of my home town. The Ozzy's refer us '' the old country'' , many call iot '' the old dirt''
