the poetbay feuilleton (cont.)
I just posted this in the Forum in answer to Nathanael:
Good Nathanael, thanks for your alertness and concern! Indeed, since long there has been an obvious activity here of poetbay poets looking for other sites, and some have found some but generally not found alternatives as good as this one.
Another thing: the neglect of poetbay is not new. It has actually been one of its characteristics. Last year (2006) we waited and waited and waited for it to work regularly with fees, so that we could write comments without having them deleted. We waited with patience, and finally it started to work.
I know that there are negotiations going on about how the site will be kept running. There is a new message today on poeter.se that says, there will be a new management from February 1st.
It's always good to have back-ups in alternatives. I recently joined ukauthors, which is a good complement, in some ways even better than poetbay but in other respects less satisfactory. I believe all alternatives have both complementing advantages and frustrating disadvantages. The safest of all is always, however, to stick to what you've already got.
