in response to many attacks on my homeland. I guess I have had my fill.

My Country Tis of Thee, Sweet Land of Liberty of Thee I Sing...

State of my Union

the United States of America

of which I am a citizen

is Free!

It gives billions upon billions upon billions of dollars in foreign aid

It fights battles in foreign lands to stop bullies from killing, robbing, raping, maiming annihilating their own people and other countries.

It takes in refugees who have no where else to go and offers them a chance for education and the American dream

It offers freedom of religion
(no one will be burned, slaughtered, castrated, killed, hanged, or brutalized because of their beliefs or non beliefs.)

It is a powerful country which is generous to a fault

I am an American and I am proud to be one.

I don't drive a gas guzzler tank, or fly around in my personal jet, or have more air conditioning units on my mansion than there are in a small southern town..
(unlike many of the wealthy elitist who use more energy, emit more ozone damaging fumes in one day than i would in a year, and then complain about the greenhouse effect. Let's see, Al Gore are you listening? How about you John Edwards?)

I don't live in the lap of luxury.

I recycle.

I plant trees.

I don't own a gun but I probably could if I wanted to.

I care about the world and its people.

I  know we are fighting for Iraqi freedom.

I am glad we are hunting down al-Qaeda.

I am proud of my president and of our military.

I am tired of people griping about my country.

when all the while it is defending the world for democracy.

Now take you shots and start your grumbling

and complaining about the big bad USA

and when you are attacked by the extremist Islamic

groups that call you infidels and want to kill you

and your loved ones, just call on the big bad Americans

to come and sacrifice their sons and daughters for

the lives's of yours.

But go ahead

keep throwing your limp arrows

because that's all you'll have left

if al-Qaeda has its way.

PS.

On Sept 11, 2001 al-Qaeda came smashing in
America's door and killed thousands of innocent men,
women, and children without provocation
unless of course you count the fact that they
deem us to be Infidels.

How safe do you feel?

Oh by the way...

Global warming won't be anything compared to the holocaust that al-Qaeda plans to rain down on our heads.

At last Katherine an American hasspoken out againt all the Anti American crap pedalled on this site for many months
I support you whole heartedly because the same people in the past have trashed my country whilst living in the shelter of its free speech doctirne and taking its handouts in one hand and a dagger in the other well done darling in your stance. I applaud you and your well written peace. of course your country and mine are not perfect but they a good deal more perfect that hundreds of regimes pandering the voice of freedom in the resat of the world as the last commentatorsaid it would have been a sorry day for europe if your country hadnt helped to destroy Nazism.

Kathy, despite the current trend to trash everything American, there are many people like myself, who are sick of seeing your country apologising for everything. (Just like this one.)
Where would Europe have been in the 1940's without the USA?
It does seem to me that every country with problems turns first to USA or Britain.
We are a bottomless pot of goodwill, yet seem to receive nothing but criticism.
I don't understand the complaints about the Iraq war. Didn't the world want rid of Saddam? As for the Taliban, folk need to read, "A Thousand Spledid Suns." (Author's name escapes me...)
Applaud.
