Comment on Jeherico's 'Focus on poetbay survival'



This is an important discussion, since I have no doubt we are all concerned about survival here. I am completely in agreement with Helen Paquin's views on this. What you say, Nick, is certainly true from your point of view, but I think others have others. We are all specialists in our own way. Since the crisis around Christmas, which eventually we survived with flying colours, Poetbay being safely sailing on again and expanding thanks to the new management, I have been looking around and testing other poetry sites. None of them are as interesting as this one. Either you are drowned and disappear in an overwhelming ocean of unidentifiable strangers who mostly seem to be experts at writing nonsense, or the lay-out is totally uninspiring. The only sensible thing to do is to make the best of it, wherever you are, as a writer.

To be honest, this has gone on long enough and constant regurgitation is pointless - the site has its faults, we have owners unwilling to do anything and people circling around looking for attention - lets wise up and either write poetry or have tiffs that are pointless and all get up on our hindlegs and pretend righteous indignation.

I will continue to write my 'stuff' and read the texts of the many poets i have grown to enjoy and find new pleasures in the ones that have just arrived. Thank you Chris for your wisdom. : ) Kathy
