Something like my eighth villanelle? If you've never fallen asleep in a tree before, try it. It's wonderful.

Gentle Giant

Just hold me in your arms tonight
my mother, cousin, sister, friend
please, keep me safe until it's light

'Twixt river's rush and mountain's might
a cradling tree, my heart's godsend
just hold me in your arms tonight

Green boughs where baby birds take flight
roots nestled in the river bend
please, keep me safe until it's light

Before, my sorrows dimmed my sight
now troubles dark your soft leaves mend
just hold me in your arms tonight

When sleep draws close I shall not fight
but welcome it, and thus the end
please, keep me safe until it's light

You'll find me there when day is bright
asleep where golden rivers wend
Just hold me in your arms tonight
please, keep me safe until it's light

Its wonderful.
A well written write that took me on the intended journey I think.
